Make a Splash @ Your Library Summer Reading Program 2010

Raccoon Reading Registration May 22 9-11am and June 1 6-7pm Sign up for your reading packets and instructions. All who sign up at this time receive special gifts and opportunities to win gift cards and other prizes! Summer Reading Program reading count will begin the day after school ends, June 5. Our programs begin June 15 and end July 17. Youth may sign up to receive their reading records at anytime May 22 to July 13.

Family Fun Tuesdays June 15- July 13 4:00-5:00pm All ages and families are encouraged to attend our Family Fun Tuesdays. Each week we will showcase an entertainer, storyteller, children’s author, or other family experience. Weather permitting, some Tuesdays we will go outside. Watch the bulletin boards for more information about outside events. Storytime Wednesdays 10:00am Birth-Preschool and their families are invited for crafts, stories, music, fingerplays, and more! Please sign up anytime during the summer so we can provide an age-appropriate program, as well as make sure we have enough supplies for all participants. Programs last 30-45 minutes.

Playtime Wednesdays 11:00am Pre-school through Early Elementary school and their families are encouraged to attend our BRAND NEW playtime! Registration is REQUIRED so enough supplies and materials are available. Playtime is loosely structured, allowing families to get to know one another, children to play and make things at their own pace, and to experience new games and friends. Afternoon Adventures Thursdays 1:00-3:30pm This program will include snacks, games, crafts, science experiments, and a new experience every week. Ages 5 and older, as well their families are welcome to come in anytime between 1:00 and 3:30pm to explore the worlds of water, wildlife, and science. We do ask ages 8 and younger are accompanied by an adult or responsible older youth. Themes include Percy Jackson, science, Swimsuit Day, the beach, and pirates. Make Waves @ Your Library

Waves Teen Time 3rd Thursday of each month: June 17, July 15, and August 19 10:00 to 11:30am Ages 12-18 are invited to come to the Library and Village Hall for programs such as ‘Teen Minute to Win It,’ bath salts and relaxation, Rock Band Contest, papier mache, and more. Each date will have multiple things to do. Snacks will be available.

FOR ALL AGES!

Summer Reading Program Closing Ceremony Saturday, July 17 9:00am-11:30am All youth and their families are encouraged to attend our SRP Party, complete with Top Reader Prizes, snacks, crafts, music, and more! Be sure to sign up in advance to make your own Hula-Hoop with experienced hula-hooper Danielle Lee, from Madison, WI!

Make and Take Thursdays July 29 – August 19 10am to 4pm (or as long as supplies last) Come to the Library to make exciting take-homes. Possible activities and crafts include Edible Fires, pirates booty, musical instruments, picture frames, and more!
